I think this butterfly may be one of the most photogenic and charming Lycaenid  in south-east Asian territories. They are often observed along the small river where their host plant grows. The underside wing has golden yellow with vivid red patch(Fig.(2)). On the contrary, the upperside has basically black with blue and red patches(Fig.(1)). This color contrast is splendid and it was hard for me to stop the taking photo of this species.
When they are flying, the butterfly seems to be entirely black and it has no attractive points.However, once they stop on the leaf and we discover the beauty of this species. The tail of this species are relatively long. So the tail is easily damaged and it is hard to find this species with perfect tail structure.
